Hot, Gay ASL

April 3, 2008

TPR buddy and contributor Gay Cousin Teddy posted this video of this cute gay guy signing the words, in rhythm, to Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” and I had to repost. Selfless endeavors, in a tank top none the less, will always get a shout out from me. If you like these, check out cutie’s channel for other vids including him signing to Kanye. Rihanna’s “Please Don’t Stop the Music” below.

John Cameron Mitchell Blogged About Soul

March 23, 2008
Photobucket

Soul Sides, an mp3 blog about various earthy/vintage/obscure music provides quality content for those of you who don’t just need indie rock and electro in their lives. It’s a bold statement to make when you are into the influential more than the stuff that’s still to be determined, especially in this digital age. Kind of grounding, actually, to blogosize the kind of music that has traditionally been preserved only on vinyl, Soul Sides in a nice detour into music that I wouldn’t otherwise be looking for.

John Cameron Mitchell was so taken by the concept of blogging about vintage soul that he posted “Soulful Distractions” a two part slot on Soul Sides. His picks mostly stick to 70′s hits from his life as cool/nerdy kid making out and crushing on girls. Anyway, it’s definitely worth a click or two.

“Búscate Un Novio” Means “Super Way Cool” In Spanish

January 23, 2008

Photobucket

Actually, no. It means “get yourself a boyfriend,” or “look for a boyfriend.” But also, it is the name of the coolest blog I’ve found in a while. AND I spend a silly amount of time online: quality time for my boyfriend and I is sitting next to each other with our laptops sharing cool links and sites, so while I’ve already found one a guy pal, I’m still impressed with Búscate. Seemingly based in Spain (sorry, gringos-no English to be had anywhere on the site), there’s a can’t be missed girl-boner for feminism in rock and roll. Plenty of queer highlights, also new and old, famous through way too cool to have been heard of before mp3′s by female fronted punk and pop bands. Can you think of anything that beats that? Didn’t think so. Go here to stream and download a concert by the Ditty Bops on 11/17/07 in California, brought to you by Búscate Un Novio.
