The Association of Latino Men for Action (ALMA) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower Latino gay, bisexual, and questioning men by providing support, advocacy, and leadership opportunities. ALMA has a twenty-one year history of continuous work bringing together the Latino and GLBTQ communities in Chicago. Recognizing ALMA’s leadership, The City of Chicago’s Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame inducted the organization in 2000 as it’s first Latino member. To advance its mission, ALMA continues to develop innovative programming and key partnerships with numerous local, state, and national communities and organizations. Vespertine: All Play Party For Women

Kinky queer women have no need to fear unwanted male advances at Vespertine, the play party for women. Demos are planned to run throughout the night with CANDY XXX, Miss Ammo, Mistress Natalya Sadici, Daddy OH! and the rest of the beautiful Vespertine Team. Play piercing, medical role play, fire and wet cupping, rope bondage, spanking and flogging and…what else is there??!! Vespertine happens on Saturday August 22nd at Mephisto’s Lair, 6410 N. CLARK, CHICAGO.

Membership for Vespertine will be available at Leather 6410/Paul C Leathers from July 22nd through August 22nd at 8pm NO CASH WILL BE TAKEN AT THE DOOR. Cost is $25.00 and the event is 21+. The store is located at 6410 N. Clark St. (Clark and Devon) and Membership may be purchased during regular store hours: Tuesday and Wednesday Noon-8pm, Thursday Noon – 10pm, Friday and Saturday Noon – 4am. Membership fees may only be paid in cash, a membership agreement must be signed and proof of age is required, as VESPERTINE IS A PRIVATE CLUB. Top Queer Chef

Top Queer Chef is BACK!!! Compete for the title, support as a beer-drinkin’ bystander, or harangue our team of esteemed judges.

WHEN: July 4th, 1pm
WHERE: A back yard in Edgewater
WHY: Because you fucking rock and the Von Snatches want you to!

DETAILS:

IF you are interested in competing to become the “TOP QUEER CHEFS of ’09″, find yourself a partner, a fabulous outfit and scrounge up $15 between the two of you. Send an email to the address listed below (or call) with your team’s name and participants, any food allergies, and if you will be cooking vegetarian. We will do the shopping for the assortment of fabulous vegetables that everyone will have to pick from, as well as the MYSTERY protein that each team will be presented with to get creative!

IF you would like to attend the fabulous festivities of this year’s Top Queer Chef as a lover, supporter, rabble-rouser, cheerleader, or quiet witness, grab some shades and a friend and remember that you are a great deal of what makes this event fabulous.
