Otalia Lives on in Venice

October 7, 2009

Ok so Otalia got the happy ending they deserved…minus the televised kiss the couple and the fans deserved! After Guiding Light’s demise, we hear that there was a kiss taped but was cut out due to “time constraints”!? Digging deeper into the back story of Otalia it turns out that Executive producer Ellen Wheeler’s Mormon background and her reliance on her Mormon’s community’s thoughts played a major role in throwing shade on Otalia’s spotlight — everything from the story’s conception to its bitter end. Fortunately, the story of Otalia motivated Crystal Chappell (ex-Olivia half of supercouple Otalia) to seek out other outlets to continue Otalia’s story. When Chappell was shot down for trying to spin off Otalia to sister show As the World Turns, or to continue Otalia as a web series, she decided to create a queer story of her own. That story will be showcased through Venice! Venice is a web series co-created by Chapell and not only stars herself but also includes her ex-Otalia super couple co-star Jessica Leccia as well as a cast of familiar daytime faces all donating their creative talents for free!!!! Chappell will play queer designer Gina and the story will follow her dramatic life in Venice, CA. The first episode features a big fat juicy kiss between Crystal and Jessica’s characters! Take that Ellen Wheeler! No word yet on any dates for Venice’s debut but you can follow Venice the series on Facebook and Twitter for further updates! See you in Venice!
