TPR #5 — Chicago Is A Bottom Town
September 3, 2008
* Ian Sklarsky’s “Boy Gets Hits By Cars”
For this episode, Erik talks to Ian Sklarsky, a Chicago based film-maker who is working on a feature about a 92 year-old witch. We also chat about the pitfalls of youtube tags and the beauty of patience. His interview was recorded at Wang’s, TPR’s new home, check out his channel at youtube.com/directorian. This episode also includes tape from the North End, the most chill bar in Chicago’s gayborhood. Erik admittedly hounded some drunk guys to defend the notion (they brought it up, BTW) that Chicago is a town of bottoms. In the end, the loudest “all-top” admitted to bottoming for one special person. Just goes to show, sphincters can be as loose as Sarah Palin’s oil rigs! Music is Lykke Li’s Breakin’ It Up (Punks Jump Up Remix) and Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks’ “Cold Son.” Check out Janet Weiss’ drumming for the Jicks!
