Kevin Townley: Water Colors and Electric Fiction

New York based artist Kevin Townley has been coming to Chicago to record his debut record with none other than Bobby Conn. His band, Electric Fiction has a call and response garage sound that wouldn’t be out of place opening for the Rocky Horror Picture show. Check out their songs on myspace and be on the look out for their first release on these here pages.
In the meantime, Townley has been dabbling with water colors, a seemingly mild choice for someone so full of personality. His site, They Don’t Know About Us is full of images and self portraits with lines that could come right out of one of his songs. A bleak outlook permeates the divide between his characters, but he keeps you on your toes with wit and drag queen-y flair.
