Hirsute seems to be made up of the cutest queers in NYC. Michael O’Neill, formerly of Princess, now plays in The Lady Bug Transistor and the Ballet and now he’s in this band. JD Samson, is well, you know JD. Ginger Brooks Takahashi and Emily Roysdon round out this new quartet that focuses “on the energy of live performance and the radical potential of dance music. [They are] currently developing a live stage show that transcends traditional boundaries of performance art, live music and visual art.” It’s a bit early to tell what direction this will take, but their three myspace songs are ambitious in a positive way. “wwwboomboomboom” is particularly energized.
