Avenue D’s Last EP

It’s a little strange that Avenue D was so under the radar. They were consistently more absurd and filthy than Peaches, but remained an unsigned act and their releases got little to no press. In November they announced they were breaking up and put out a heart shaped 3 CD box w/ DVD and T-Shirt to commemorate/celebrate. You can still get it.
The one time I was able to catch them live, they got booed for being sluts and one of them fell off her clear plastic platforms. Their music wasn’t so offensive, it’s clear these girls were just having fun and it’s a little bit enjoyable to imagine them being scene-sters. Their last EP, “Totally Magic” is out on CD (you can get it with out getting the box set) and on itunes and it features songwriting and production by another longtime member of the animated .gif myspace gays: Phiiliip. Debbie D. and Daphne D. are interchangeable and you’re not going to impress anyone with how trashy your taste is, still Avenue D can hit some right spots on those days when you just want to get stoned and clean the house. A mellow track below, not close to the taint-infused 2D2F of yore, but even sexy has a sensitive side.
