On January 8th, LGBT community activist, Lisa Tonna passed away after an eleven-month battle with lung cancer. This article in the Windy City Times lists just some of her accomplishments.
Fellow activist, comedian and friend of Lisa, Jessica Halem, said it best:
If you knew Lisa, you know how special she was and I hope you will join us this Saturday morning to remember her. If you are a queer person living in Chicago (and beyond), you benefited from her gifts and I hope you will join us to thank her, even if you didn’t know her personally. She was a tireless activist as well as an amazing friend. She will be missed and should be thanked.
Lisa’s family, friends, students, colleagues and community will gather on Saturday, January 12 from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM.

i’m so sorry to hear of her passing. I remember her benefit last summer at Sidetrack, what an amazing person and amazing spirit! Thanks for posting Amy…
