This letter written by Michael Moore the day before the Iowa caucus made me consider John Edwards for the first time. Now, after Huckabee’s shocking victory Thursday night, I think it may be time to throw my support to the most electable democrat. Could a nut job like Huckabee actually win the hearts of Republicans across the country? I hate to think that’s possible, but then again, I live in a queer bubble where I often lose perspective on mainstream America. It actually makes me very sad to know that so many people agree with Huckabee’s insane opinions. This is still a country filled with sexist and racist citizens who would never vote for a woman or person of color in a general election. It’s sad that Obama and Rodham-Clinton are having to sway so far to the middle to compensate for not being white males. I’m having flashbacks to the post-election stupor I experienced last time George W. stole the votes.
