I found this from the organizers of Chicago’s Dyke March on Myspace:
CHICAGO DYKE MARCH IS MOVING… LET’S TALK ABOUT IT!! Join Chicago Dyke
March organizers for a discussion on the future of Dyke March! The
purpose of this forum is to engage community members in a discussion
about the change of location for the March in 2008. Please come and
share any concerns or ideas you have about potential locations for
next year. **DYKE MARCH COMMUNITY FORUM** WHEN: FRIDAY, NOV. 30 WHERE: WOMEN & CHILDREN FIRST (5233 N. CLARK) TIME: 7-8:30PM
I think there are a lot of changes that could benefit Dyke March, starting
with the default picture used on the myspace page, but location is not
one of them. Andersonville was once “Girlstown” and is rapidly losing
that reputation to the chain restaurants and yuppies. Please come and
talk about how we can make Dyke March bigger and more inclusive while
maintaining it’s traditional significance as Chicago’s non-corporate,
grass-roots, political event that celebrates the diversity of our
queer communities.
